1. Which version is free?
The developer announced free Episode 2 on 9 October 2026. Its release post is dated 11 September and lists Build37 DX11 and DX12 archives. The free-access announcement is later than the original release; it is not a new name for Episode 3.
Episode 3 is announced as a continuation with more features and fixes. Its public Patreon preview currently says Locked and Join to unlock. The required tier price is not shown in the preview we checked; open the post and confirm the membership level and charge before subscribing.
2. Compare the available downloads

The build suffix belongs to the file you download. Keep the filename intact and note the date you obtained it. If the developer replaces an attachment, your older archive can still have a different build number even though the page URL is unchanged.
3. Find the official Episode 2 download
- Open the Episode 2 release post linked below and verify that the creator is sgthale. Scroll to Attachments; the website advertisement is not the game download.
- Choose the Build37 graphics variant for your Windows computer. The Episode 2 instructions recommend DX12 and offer DX11 for very old computers. The graphics-choice guide below explains the distinction.
- Keep the archive and the release-post link together. If you cannot see an attachment, check that you opened Episode 2 rather than the separately locked Episode 3 post, then read the Patreon prompt shown on your account.
4. Before moving from Episode 2 to Episode 3
The sources reviewed here do not confirm cross-episode save transfer. Keep the working Episode 2 installation and original save before testing Episode 3. Do not overwrite the old game folder as your first step, and do not treat a copy of the game ZIP as a save backup.
If you use mods, record those versions too. A mod labelled for Build37 or b102 is not automatically compatible with b105. Confirm the game build in each mod description before moving its files into a new episode.
5. Is either episode the Steam release?
No. Steam still lists a Q1 2027 target. Free Episode 2 does not establish the Steam price, and access to a Patreon episode does not by itself establish ownership of a future Steam copy. Look for an explicit developer statement before counting on either benefit.
